The Online Goobledygook, Gibberish and Jargon Awards are organized by Kay Paumier, a communications and PR consultant who is appalled at the poor writing that passes for communication today. Since founding Communications Plus (http://www.CommunicationsPlus.net) in 1987, Kay has helped dozens of companies communicate more effectively. Her clients range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Kay has won 17 local, national and international PR and writing awards. Her writing has been published in a variety of publications including Family Circle, American Libraries, Financial Executive" and the Los Angeles Times. She has taught writing at San Jose State Professional Development and at PR firms in Silicon Valley and New York. Richard Lederer is the author of more than 30 books about language, history, and humor, including his best-selling Anguished English series and his current books, A Treasury for Dog Lovers and A Treasury for Cat Lovers. He has been profiled in magazines as diverse as The New Yorker, People, and The National Enquirer" and frequently appears on radio as a commentator on language. Dr. Lederer's syndicated column, Looking at Language, appears in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States. He has been named International Punster of the Year and a Toastmasters International's Golden Gavel winner. Jeff Rubin, founder of Punctuation Playtime (http://www.PunctuationPlaytime.com) and National Punctuation Day(http://www.NationalPunctuationDay.com), is The Newsletter Guy, owner of the Pinole, CA-based newsletter publishing firm of the same name (http://www.TheNewsletterGuy.com). Jeff has written and designed more than 1,700 newsletters for companies in a wide variety of industries since beginning his business in 1981. Previously, Jeff was a newspaper reporter, columnist, and editor for papers in New York, Connecticut, Illinois and California.
